Two Madison students
who take pride in the details.

NS Outdoors was started by Jacob Scully and Federico Nichol — two university students in Madison, Wisconsin who'd rather spend a Saturday on a lawn than anywhere else. What started as picking up neighborhood yards turned into a real business built on one simple idea: do the work the way you'd want it done at your own home.

We answer our own phones. We show up when we say we will. And because we're owner-operated, you're never handed off to a different crew or a different attitude. Every property we touch gets the same care.

It's straightforward: if your property is in a high-visibility location (busy intersection, main road, etc.), we'll provide free lawn mowing and trimming in exchange for displaying our yard sign during service. The sign is the trade. We disclose this clearly because we believe in transparent advertising — it's a marketing partnership, not a giveaway. Practical things, not just marketing language: we use fuel-efficient mowers and trimmers, mulch grass clippings back into the lawn instead of bagging (returns nutrients to the soil), source mulch from regional Wisconsin suppliers when possible, install woven landscape fabric under rock and mulch beds so you need less herbicide long-term, and avoid blanket chemical applications.
